How to Get Bing Site Verification Meta Tag (Step-by-Step Guide)

If you want your website to appear in Bing search results, you need to verify ownership using a Bing site verification meta tag. This guide will show you how to get and add the meta tag easily.

What is Bing Site Verification Meta Tag?

The Bing verification meta tag is a small HTML code provided by Microsoft through Bing Webmaster Tools.

It looks like this: <meta name="msvalidate.01" content="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" />

It tells Bing that you are the owner of the website.

 

Step 1: Go to Bing Webmaster Tools

Visit: https://www.bing.com/webmasters

Sign in using:

  1. Microsoft account
  2. Google account (easy option)

Step 2: Add Your Website

Click “Add a Site”

You’ll see two options:

  1. Import from Google Search Console (recommended)
  2. Add manually

Step 3: Enter Website URL

Example: https://yourwebsite.com

Click Add

Step 4: Choose Verification Method

Select: HTML Meta Tag

Add Bing site verification meta tag to Your Website

Now add the copied meta tag to your website:

  1. Go to your website dashboard
  2. Navigate to General Settings
  3. Find the field: Bing site verification meta tag
  4. Paste the copied code
  5. Save your changes
